Stampin' with Carol

Sorry it's been a few days...

Sammie and I are feeling better.  We get a little better every day.  Just the residual coughing, fatigue, etc.  We did venture out a little this past weekend and today we went to Exploration Station and ran a couple of errands.  I haven't stamped yet.  Maybe tomorrow if we get snowed in.  But I do have a picture of Sammie to share.  She's very proud of her "Ireland braid" (which is a braid similar to the ones her little friend, Ireland, usually wears).  She's been growing her hair a little just to do this...

(Mom just needs to practice or get lessons from Kerry so it looks a little nicer).

Stamp-a-Stack cancel and reschedule

Because of the illness in my home, I have to cancel Saturday's Stamp-a-Stack. 

But I'm rescheduling it for March 1st, at 10am.  And I'm throwing in a surprise bonus project for the inconvenience.  So, please RSVP and let me know you can make it!

4th day of confinement...

We're still sane, but barely.  Sammie and I both have the flu.  We're feeling a little better today since we're both fever free so far.  But we're going through a huge amount of kleenex!! 

So, I haven't done any stamping.  Haven't done much of anything except rest.  But, I did save a little favor to show you that I made last week...

   

It's 2 Hershey Nuggets, wrapped in designer series paper and tied up in a neat little package.  It uses the scallop punch (which is my all time favorite punch) and a transparancy to wrap and hold the nuggets in.

Cute, right?

Flu Update:  Sammie is feeling better.  Still tired, but fever is down in the 99 range.  So, we're spending one more day cooped up in the house.  I'm sure we'll both be crazy and ready to bust out of here by tomorrow!!

Happy President's Day!

Being a homeschooler, it was not my intention to take today off from school.  But Sammie girl woke up sick this morning.  I think it might be a touch of the flu - fever, cough, sore throat, headache.  Poor thing.  So, she's spending the day relaxing in the daybed watching her favorite DVD's, sipping water and kool-aid, surrounded by her favorite stuffed animals, and bossing her Mom around.  Which does seem to be her favorite part!

So, let's catch up...

Kerry's workshop on Saturday was very successful!  Thanks to all of you who came out to join us!  Kerry got just about everything she had on her wishlist.  Congratulations Kerry!  Here are the two cards we did:      (I have posted these previously).

I've become addicted to the new Stampin' Up! rub-ons!  I didn't think I'd have a use for them, but I do!  Check out some things I did last Friday afternoon...

I'm looking around for more things to apply these, too.  The ones used here are from the Sale-a-Bration promotion and you can get them for FREE like I did by placing a $50 order.  Cool!

Happy Valentine's Day How is your day?  We're having a pretty good day over here.  Sammie's pretty excited about Valentine's Day.  I was woke up by a little kiss...from the dog!  Yep, he came upstairs and got me when I wasn't expecting it.  Happy Valentine's Day to you, too, Kramer!  We got Sammie a couple of fun presents and I sent her on a treasure hunt to find them this morning.  My hubby brought home some beautiful flower last night for me.  They smell great!  I'll post a picture later. Snow, snow, snow...

Our zoo trip yesterday was almost...almost ruined because of the snow.  When we left here it was just flurrying (is that a word?), but the closer we got to the zoo, the worse it got.  When I considered missing the class and going home, we were so close to the zoo that we just went.  Sammie had a great rainforest class yesterday!  They studied tarantulas and were dressed in the cutest spider costumes when I picked her up.  Here's some highlights of our trip home...  (we had nothing better to do while inching along in traffic)

      

      

Doesn't that look like fun?... It wasn't so bad.  Just the first 30 minutes were slow.  After that, we were able to gain some speed.  Took us twice as long as it usually does to get home.  But it was worth it!  Sammie had a great class and I spent some time reading, listening to the radio, and watching the beautiful snow fall!

It's a zoo day!

Sammie has her rain forest class at the zoo this afternoon.  Afterwards, I promised her we could stay for a bit to play in the Family Zoo area.  She enjoys watering the "rain forest" and playing veterinarian.

Saturday, Sammie and I went to the zoo for their "treats for feathered friends" class.  We made fruit kabobs and poppers filled with birdseed and paper shreds for the perching birds.  What fun!  It was awesome to watch them opening the poppers.
